FAQ
FAQ
Q: I’m not really sure how or where to start?
A: That is no problem at all. We have a series of ecoMasterClasses on just about every topic of energy efficiency. All the information is totally free. Click here to check it out.
Q: What does Cavity Sliding Door Draught Proofing Kit do?
A: Cavity Sliding Door Draught Proofing Kit will help seal one side of your cavity sliding door. In order for the kit to be effective, the door must be closed.
Q: Are Cavity Sliding Door Draught Proofing Kits easy to install?
A: Draught Dodgers for Cavity Sliding Doors are relatively easy to install. There are a number of steps that need to be undertaken in sequence - which is why we provide the 7 video series.
Q: Do I have to use the fitting packer?
A: Yes. It must be used to install the head and the latch side of the kit. The fitting packer has been provided to ensure the moulding is fitted exactly the right distance from the face of the door. Not using the fitting packer guarantees an inferior result.
Q: How do you install Cavity Sliding Doors Draught Proofing Kit?
A: Please watch our video series under the “How To” tab.
Q: Do you have a recommended installer for the Cavity Sliding Kit?
A: A recommended installer is highly location dependent. To find out if we have a recommended installer in your area please contact us here or call 1300 326 627.
Q: What is the Cavity Sliding Doors Draught Proofing Kit made of?
A: If you choose the Raw Timber Cavity Sliding Kit, the mouldings are made from a high quality hardwood timber (Tassie Oak) as well as vinyl for the seals, flexible PVC, and an extremely durable adhesive tape. If you choose the White Cavity Sliding Kit, the mouldings are made from white powder coated aluminium.
Q: Can I get a sample?
A: Unfortunately, we do not have samples of the Cavity Sliding Door Draught Proofing Kit.
Q: Can I get different coloured seals in the standard kits?
A: Yes, you can. However, there is a custom charge applied to make this change. Simply add your Cavity Sliding Kit to your cart and also add a Custom Charge. Prior to completing your transaction there is a notes section. Please write in this area what colour seals you would like to purchase with your kit.
Q: The mouldings are stuck in the wrong place, now I can’t put the seals in.
A: Unfortunately that is quite problematic. We provide installation videos to ensure a quality result. The mouldings can be removed from the door, but the self adhesive tape will not restick. You can fix the mouldings with nails or brads, make sure to use the fitting packer and watch the installation videos first.
Q: Will the Cavity Sliding Kit help to reduce noise?
A: Although not acoustically tested, our clients have reported significant reduction in noise after installation.
Shipping
Shipping
Q: Can I collect my order?
A: Yes you can! A “Ready for Pickup” email will be sent to you when you order is ready to be collected. Please click this link for the Click and Collect details. Note: this Collection Centre is in Preston Victoria, NOT Prestons in NSW.
Q: When will my order be despatched?
A: Generally, your order will be despatched within 2 to 3 business days.
Q: Will my order be tracked?
A: Yes! When your order is consigned, you will receive a tracking number that will show you where your order is and its expected delivery date. Track your order here
Please note: Orders with two or more items may arrive in separate parcels with no additional shipping charge
Q: When will my order be delivered?
A: All over-sized orders are picked, packed and despatched within 3 business days. Your order will be delivered by a specialist courier that specifically handles oversized items that cannot be delivered via Australia Post.
Please note that this is a specialist courier NOT an express courier. Our experience with specialist couriers varies depending upon the delivery location. Clearly delivery times will fluctuate at peak shipping times such as Christmas, end of financial year and the pinnacle of winter bleakness!
Q: Authority to leave?
A: The standard courier delivery option is "Authorised to Leave". That means that if there is no one home when the courier arrives, your order will be left at your address. If this is not appropriate, please advise when you place your order for alternative arrangements to be made.
Q: What happens if my order is damaged in transit?
A: Our freighters have very strict policies on the ability to claim on insurance if your order arrives damaged. There is a 48 hour window of receipt of goods for ecoMaster being able to advise the freighters of a damage claim. PLEASE ensure you have advised us IMMEDIATELY if an order has been damaged on arrival. Open your order immediately and check. Outside of the 48 hour window, we are unable to make an insurance claim.
Q: What happens if my order gets lost during transit?
A: Occasionally we have had orders go missing. ecoMaster has solid procedures in place and photograph every order that leaves our warehouse. If a delivery date appears to be beyond expectation, we will raise a query on your behalf. If your order cannot be found during transit, we will send a replacement.
Q: What happens if my order is stolen after delivery?
A: If your order is stolen from your home after delivery, please raise a Police report.
Q: How do I make my freight costs cheaper?
A: We hear you! Oversized items are expensive to transport. Any item over 1.5m long carries an additional $10 charge by the courier.
Potential cost effective freight alternatives are:
- Share the costs of freight with a neighbour
- Buy all your long items (such as Draught Dodgers) in one order (a second tube going to the same address is free)
- Collect your order from Preston Victoria
If you live regionally or in a rural location, freight costs will be high. Do you have an address in a town where your order can be safely delivered? We also live regionally and understand the frustration with the high costs of freight!!
Warranty
Warranty
Q: What is the product warranty for the Draught Dodger range?
A: The Draught Dodger range has a product warranty of 10 years, but can be effective for much longer than that. Our own home has had Draught Dodgers on our front door for nearly 20 years. It is in perfect condition and still doing its job - beautifully.
Q: What is the installation warranty for Draught Dodgers?
A: As Draught Dodgers are a DIY product there is no warranty on installation.
However, in order to get the best value from your investment, here are a few tips that will help:
- Please, PLEASE watch the installation videos before you proceed. The packer has been designed and included to ensure that the Draught Dodgers are fitted in EXACTLY the right place.
- Thoroughly clean the surface that your Draught Dodgers are to be adhered to. In situations where Draught Dodgers have 'failed', this is 95% of the reason.
- The other reason is the type of paint on the door jamb. Very oily paints make longer term adhesion quite challenging. In this case, fix Draught Dodgers to your door with brads instead of the self adhesive strip.
Q: What do I do if I have a problem with this product?
A: Refer to our Returns / Refunds page [Learn More]. Our Research and Development team will be keenly interested to learn of any product failure and will want images and samples the product (if possible), so they can determine what the cause of failure was.
If you have any questions, contact the ecoMaster team. We are all ex-installers and have done this work thousands of times before. We are here to help you.
The product is very easy to install and in my case makes the sliding door look finished.
The door not only closes properly without wobbling, the reduced draught and noise makes working in the office so much more comfortable.
Hello Sven,
Thank you for your kind words! We are glad to hear that our Cavity Sliding Door Kit has met your expectations and improved the functionality of your sliding door. Our goal is to provide a premium finish and easy installation for our customers, and we are happy to know that you have experienced just that. Thank you for choosing ecoMaster, we hope our product continues to enhance your office experience.
Great product although, like some others, I would suggest adding written instructions to complement the videos.
Hi Andrew,
Thank you also for your suggestion about providing written instructions to complement our instructional videos. We will definitely take this into consideration and work on improving our product instructions. We appreciate your feedback.
It's well described and the videos are really helpful. I'm very pleased with the kits I've installed.
My only suggestion is to offer the white RP17 option too.
Thank you for your feedback Linda. We're constantly striving to improve our customers experience, so we'll definitely take your suggestions into consideration.
A very good product. Well designed and value for money. However, the 7 instruction videos are frustratingly difficult to access. Would be better to do a single video, complemented by a written instruction sheet.
Thank you for your feedback Rita, we're sorry to hear that your experience wasn't perfect. The Cavity Sliding Kit does have a lot of different components and from past customer feedback requires quite a bit of instruction, which is why it is broken down as such. However, we do very much appreciate you sharing your views and will work to improve in the areas you mentioned. Thanks for being a customer!
Product is really great. Assembly is not too hard. It just needs to be idiot proofed more. Such as cutting both ends at an angle so that we don't saw the wrong end off and its not properly aligned at the top. Also explaining in the video which way the rubber goes in as it goes in both ways in the training edge piece
